Intern to GM 'Real-life Stove League' MLB's First Female GM Kim Ng, Reemployed After One Year of Controversy

Kim Ng, the first female general manager in Major League Baseball (MLB) history and former Miami Marlins GM who led the team to the postseason but did not receive recognition from the owner, has successfully found a new job. This time, she will be pursuing her dreams in softball.

On the 2nd (Korean time), MLB.com reported that "Kim Ng, who made history as the first female GM of a U.S. men's professional sports team in 2020, has been appointed as the chief advisor of the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL)." Ng will lead the development of the AUSL, which is scheduled to launch in 2025. Ng previously represented Major League Baseball on the board of the U.S. Softball Association and played softball at the University of Chicago before entering the baseball industry.

In a press release, Ng stated, "I am excited to lead the AUSL as it prepares to launch. Being able to participate in a sport I enjoyed growing up through the AUSL is very exciting. I have observed the growth of softball over the past few years, and I believe it has tremendous potential at the professional level. I am confident that the AUSL is positioned for success."
